I get a login failure when I enter my credentials in the My Deal Accounts Page. What should I do?

First make sure that you can successfully log in to your account on the daily deal site directly with the same credentials. If you are using Facebook connect to log in to the daily deal site, then read the next faq. The My Deal Accounts page requires the actual daily deal site account credentials and not your Facebook credentials. If problems persist, please email us the following details at support@citypockets.com.

1. Name of daily deal site
2. The URL you use to log in to your account (www.groupon.com, for example)
3. The specific error messages you receive trying to add the account to your CityPockets account

I use my Facebook account to log in to my daily deal site, can I still import my vouchers?

If you use your Facebook account to log in to a daily deal site like Groupon or LivingSocial, unfortunately, we can't use your Facebook credentials to import your vouchers. One solution is to create an actual login account with the daily deal provider and make sure all your existing vouchers are merged into the new account. The daily deal provider should allow you to link your newly or existing daily deal account with your Facebook account, please refer to their website for more information. Then try importing your daily deal account to CityPockets by entering the daily deal site credentials.

I can’t find my daily deal site.

We’re currently helping you manage vouchers from the following 30 popular daily deal sites: Groupon, LivingSocial, BuyWithMe, KGBDeals, Bloomspot, Travelzoo, Restaurant.com, BlackboardEats, Tippr, Thrillist, GiltCity, DailyCandy, TownHog, Yelp, Eversave, LifeBooker, Homerun, YouSwoop, DealOn, ZoZi, ScoopSt, CrowdCut, Plum District, UrbanDaddy, InBundles, MamaSource, Jasmere, SocialSteals, and DealFind.

We are adding other sites soon. If you can’t find your daily deal site, please tell us what your favorite deal sites are here so we know which ones to add next.

Can I purchase a new deal through CityPockets?

If you click on the Marketplace tab, you will be able to search and filter for past deals in our marketplace as well as live deals currently available. When you click to purchase, we will redirect you to the deal provider site itself. Once you’ve purchased a new deal on that site, be sure to return to CityPockets to trigger an automatic import of all your deals into your account page. But remember that the sale of the deal have to end first before we can grab the PDF or html of the vouchers from third party deal sites.

We’re currently only showing live deals from a few of the most popular sites in New York. As we add functionality to connect to more daily deal sites, we will also aggregate deals from those particular sites.

You can currently use CityPockets from anywhere in the US and Canada since we’re a location-agnostic platform.

Can I manually add a voucher on CityPockets?

Definitely! We are working to add as many deal sites as quickly as we humanly can. But in the meantime, since we want to be a comprehensive service for our users, you can manually upload and add details of your vouchers from deal sites that we do haven't supported yet onto your account page.

You will have the option to remove all the manually entered vouchers by specific deal site down the road, when we eventually add the deal site that you want to link accounts with.

How can I make a product suggestion to CityPockets?

Please email your idea to the CityPockets product team (at feedback@citypockets.com) and the CityPockets community by suggesting it on our Facebook or Twitter pages. The CityPockets team regularly reviews all ideas so keep ‘em coming!

I am experiencing a problem. How should I submit a bug?

3. Support Topic (eg. I found a bug! I found duplicate vouchers in my account)

How is CityPockets free?

We are currently focused on giving our users the best experience and utility possible on CityPockets. We will never charge you to use the site because we believe in helping you get the most out of your daily deals.

We make money from transaction fees through the sale of vouchers in the marketplace. We're also earning affiliate revenue from the recommended and personalized deals that we feature to our users from specific partner sites.

We will never sell your personal information to anyone, ever. That is not how we monetize the site. We will never do anything before asking for your permission, scout’s honor.

Does CityPockets help me track my referral credits, or the total amount that I’ve spent and saved on vouchers?

Not right now. We have had a few people asking for these features but not significant enough. Please let us know if you’d like to see this feature (or any other feature for that matter) by emailing us at feedback@citypockets.com. Please tell us why this particular feature is important to you.

Can I redeem vouchers via my mobile phone?

Yes, just enter the URL citypockets.com into your smartphone browser and you'll be able to login to the site as you do online. You can pull up the voucher PDF for instant redemption at the merchant location. We're also launching our mobile apps on iPhone and Android soon so keep an eye out for that!

We also have a mobile application in development so stay tuned for a release in early 2011.

How secure are my account credentials and vouchers on CityPockets?

CityPockets uses high-level data security and password encryption to log onto your daily deal accounts. We only access your voucher PDFs to import them onto your CityPockets account page. Your vouchers are stored in a secure facility, on our own servers, protected 24/7. We do not access your personal account information on these sites.

How does the points system work?

Points translate into cash to spend in the CityPockets Marketplace. There are many ways you can earn points apart from referring friends to CityPockets. For example, you'll earn points if buy a deal, mark a voucher as used, add a new deal account, tweet about us, etc. For complete guide of the Points system click here.
