General Marketplace Questions
What is the CityPockets Marketplace?
CityPockets Marketplace is a place for you to buy past daily deals that you had missed or sell vouchers that you can't use anymore. Please read more about our Marketplace Terms of Service
How does CityPockets ensure that a voucher is valid and authentic?
CityPockets imports the daily deal vouchers directly from the seller's deal accounts, so every voucher sold is 100% authentic and generated by the deal site itself. In most cases, if the voucher has been marked as used on the deal site, CityPockets would detect that and know that it has been used and will prevent the user from selling it.
To be verified as a CityPockets seller, users have to go through a PayPal ID Verification process before they can list a voucher for sale in the marketplace. If there is a suspicious voucher lurking around or if you notice any unusual seller behavior, please notify us at marketplace@citypockets.com right away. We promise to follow up immediately.
Fee Schedule
Buyer - No cost to purchase a deal at all. No hidden fees. Only CityPockets awesomeness.
Sellers - No listing fee. Transaction fee of $1 + 8% of the sale price of the voucher.
Seller transaction fees will be deducted from the total sale price you list to sell your voucher in the marketplace. For example, if you list a voucher for $10, the transaction fees are $1 + 8% of $10 = $1.80. So when someone buys your voucher in the marketplace, we will credit your PayPal account with $8.20. Seller fees will be displayed in your email confirmation when someone successfully buys your listed voucher.
Who Is Responsible for the Deal?
CityPockets does not issue the vouchers and is not affiliated with any of the issuing deal sites or merchants. The issuing deal sites and merchants are responsible for fulling honoring all vouchers according to the terms of the voucher. CityPockets takes no responsibility for any services or products purchased via the vouchers, and we do not review, verify or endorse any merchants or their services and products. Any problems or issues you may have with the merchants need to be addressed and resolved directly with the appropriate merchant.

CityPockets Buyer Protection
Most transactions go smoothly. However, on rare occasions, an issue may arise. We believe in a straightforward resolution process that is fair to everyone. We follow a Shared Responsibility approach, which acknowledges that sometimes things go wrong despite the best efforts of well-intentioned people. We strive for fairness by sharing the responsibility between the buyer and seller.
Refund Process. If for some reason, the voucher you bought is invalid, because the seller has already used it or the merchant does not honor the voucher, the buyer shall initiate the return process by forwarding the CityPockets email confirmation that was received upon voucher purchase to marketplace@citypockets.com. Please make sure the purchase confirmation # is in the email so that we can contact the seller to refund you. The refund will not include any expenses that may be incurred by the buyer as a result of not being able to use the voucher.
Our Guarantee. This refund guarantee shall only apply if the buyer reports to CityPockets a claim within a time period that is both (i) within a period of 60 days after the date that the discount voucher was purchased via our website and (ii) within 14 days after the date that the merchant refused to honor the discount voucher. If there is a disputed or unsuccessful transaction, CityPockets will refund to the buyer the purchase price paid by the buyer.
Where can I find my voucher once I've bought it?
After payment is received, the sold voucher will be transferred from the Seller's My Voucher page to the Buyer's My Voucher page on their personal CityPockets accounts respectively. Sellers can see all the vouchers they've sold on the "SOLD" tab, and Buyers can see all the vouchers they've purchased on the "PURCHASED" tab on the My Vouchers page.
Can I still use the voucher if someone else's name is on it?
Absolutely. A seller is not allowed to sell vouchers that are not transferable. Most of the time, vouchers can be used by another person other than the one whose name appears on the voucher, unless otherwise noted in the terms and conditions of the original deal site.
